Explore riverine life, culture, and traditions through immersive water expeditions across Bangladesh’s deltaic heartlands and historic villages.

Rivers and peoples society coevolve and emerge through continued engagement over space and time. A special bond exist in certain places between the peoples and rivers. There is a range of typical trade, generationed-owned activities, inherent cultural rituals and belief system that witness the people’s culture which plays a significant role in the lives of the peoples living in the lands of rivers.

An expeditions through guided interaction in the lands of River for understanding the bonds between the peoples & lands of river and their adaptation through adverse effects on lives due to changes the nature..

Bangladesh is home to 60 percent of the world’s largest delta, known as the Bengal Delta. Large rivers like Padma and Jamuna flow through the Bengal Delta join the Meghna River named river system which combines 700 rivers including tributaries & distributaries before flowing down to the sea. The deltaic and riverine nature of the land makes unlimited water based tourism – the only best way to know the peoples, culture, beliefs system, regional ritual, honey mixed attitudes and  Rivers of life !

Itinerary

At first day trip including Airport pick up & transfer to the hotel

Day-01: Dhaka Full-day City Tour before embarking on an overnight cruise to Barisal

In the first day of the trip, we will take you to the historically important monuments & way peoples hard-working practices, central Bazar, chaotic alleys, sub-standard lives of Dhaka, peoples activities in Old Dhaka. The sights are as above:

* Amin Bazar load / unload hard-working activities of day labors

* Kawran Bazar

* High court building

* Dhakeswari Temple:

* Lalbagh Mughal palace fort

* Bara Katra:

 

* Choto Katra
* Star Mosque

 

* Shakhari Patti / bazaar:

 

* Ahshan Monzil ( pink palace ):

 * Boat building in Sadarghat:

* Embark on the gigantic ship for an overnight cruise towards Barisal.

 

Day-02: Barisal – Floating market – Bagerhat – Khulna by Car / Hiace

Upon arrival Barisal, you will transferred to Banaripara where our waiting boat begin its cruise –

* Barisal backwater cruise: Despite Barisal backwater cruise cover many interesting sights, we cover only morning vegetables floating market and walk through village to know their typical way of lives and arts of attitude. River scenic beauty & Bede peoples living on the boat. In the full-day cruise more interesting are – boat building, floating Timber markets, coconut coir processing factories and cruise around Venice of Bengal at Swarup kathi.

 

* A car drive to Khulna, on the way visit sixty domed Mosque, some other Mosque’ and mausoleum of Khan Jahan Ali who was the saint and ruler of Khalitabad city during the Medieval sultanate period.

 

* Bagerhat city of Mosque: The Historic Mosque City of Bagerhat represents the remnants of a medieval Muslim town in the north of the Sundarbans. It contains some of the most significant buildings and Islamic super-structures. Shait-Gumbad is one of the iconic mosques which is represents the spiritual environment that exhibits a unique architectural style, known as Khan-e-Jahan (15th Century A.D.). Khan Jahan Ali tomb is extra ordinary architecture beyond sweet water reservoir in Bagerhat.

In the evening, continue on to Khulna and check-in city Inn or Tiger garden hotel

 

Day-03: Otter Fishing Tour & Drive to Barisal

Early in the morning with packed breakfast drive to Beger Danga Kheya Ghat by reserved a car. After crossing river drive to the otter fishermen village of Narail for experience the difference fishing with otters and learn the practices.

Return to Bager Danga Kheya Ghat where the awaiting car will continue its drive to Barisal for embarking on a giant ship for the overnight cruise to Dhaka.

 

Day-04: Dhaka – Sonargaon

Sonargaon – The Lost City Of Muslin

Depart Dhaka at around 08:30 AM by AC vehicle to Sonargaon is only 29km. Despite Sonargaon were the trading town and thriving capital of the medieval sultans and the chieftain of Bengal in the 14th, 15th, and 16thCentury. The remains of the then historical sites are scattered within the area. We will visit some of the main attractive places where the glory of the city was lost due to British influence in architecture and many washes away.

 

* visit GRANT PALACE ( Boro Sardar Bari) which is the finest example of the rich terracotta arts in the palatial structures of Bengal architecture. The folklore museum has presented huge collections of last century households, arts, and crafts.

 

* PANAM CITY – look back to the grandeur of the merchants and elites peoples in Panam city as the secured town stretched along with the road 5 meters in width and 600 meters in length. Merchant different 52 grant terracotta houses stand side by side with accommodation facilities and trading opportunities front side of the ground floor.

 

* Visit Goaldi Mosque is one of the typical one domed brick-built sultanate architecture at the outskirts of Sonargaon Township.

 

* Cruise on Meghna River: A cruise on Meghna River for exploring remote island villages peoples typical way of living and their traditional custom & architectures well – worth outing on the way to Gopaldi, sunset photography over the Ganges river system. Leave the boat and few km drive back to expeditions Homestay for the dinner & Folk musical program before sleep.

 

Day-5: Weavers culture, village Market, traditional weaving, Jandani & Batik dyeing

A photogenic tour in the last day trip cover the traditional weaving factories, spinning, dyeing, garments, textiles, Batik print & dyeing, grandeur of Zamindar palace & Jamdani share weaving before transfer you Dhaka hotel nearby airport.

 

Day-6: Dhaka

Few activities in traditional chicken market, Bazar before you drop at Dhaka airport.

  • Our Experiences guide till free in October & November.
  • October & November is best time for Photographers when they desire to Festival Photography.
