Otter Fishing Technique:
This traditional method of fishing with otters has been an age-old practice among the fishermen in villages along the Chitra River in Narail. Monsoons and winters usually offer the best chances for otter-assisted fishing. The otters after eating fish start diving up and down in excitement after sometime calmed down a bit then sank into the water, the fisherman tied to bamboo with a rope. As soon as they start swimming, the fishermen throw their net into the water. Fish usually hide under aquatic plants. The otters expedition those fish out and drive them into the net. The fishermen pull the net with more fish.
